Cloud Operations Manager

We are looking for a Cloud Operation Manager, primarily responsible for overseeing both the technical and managerial aspects of Open Assessment Technologies’ Operations department. Your job is to plan, direct, and design our OAT’s Cloud infrastructure while simultaneously managing the Cloud Operation team.

Main responsibilities:

  • Organizing and controlling the activities of the team, assigning staff to various projects and directing their activities through goal setting;
  • Acting as a mentor for the team;
  • Implementing the necessary processes and culture to align the Cloud Operations vision with the overall business strategy, delivering high-quality services;
  • Supporting other technical teams with R&D and recommendations on the use of technology;
  • Identifying and evaluating new technologies and processes that might help the team deliver better solutions and service;
  • Guaranteeing that the Cloud Operations team provide frameworks that the engineering teams can deliver their products to the customers;
  • Guaranteeing the infrastructure lifecycle is properly managed;
  • Ensuring that processes are followed by the team;
  • Supporting the team in troubleshooting complex performance and system issues;
  • Synchronizing with our Support team;
  • Prioritizing workload according to Business needs;
  • Ensuring and facilitating knowledge sharing within the department;
  • Participating in RFP’s and RFI’s;
  • Supporting Sales and executives with strategy and cost estimation;
  • Supporting CS and PMO with guidance on infrastructure services;
  • Liaising with Architects, Developers to make sure technology stack is always in sync;

Skills and Expertise:

  • Strong experience managing time-critical operations/applications in the cloud;
  • Strong Infrastructure knowledge;
  • Experience with public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, Bluemix.);
  • Understanding of micro-services orchestration and architecture is highly appreciated;
  • Experience with SDLC & Change management;
  • Agile / Scrum experience is a plus;
