Open Assessment Technologies is looking for a Junior Controller with experience in accounting to join the Finance team. The Finance Department is responsible for developing and implementing effective and efficient financial planning, reporting, and accounting systems that help the front office achieve their objectives and the management to improve their decision making.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Generate various financial reports to support decision-making processes.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts. Analyze budget variances and provide insights to management.
- Internal Controls: Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of internal control procedures. Identify areas for process improvements to ensure financial accuracy.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits. Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation.
- Accounting Operations: Support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Compliance: Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and ensure compliance. Assist in the preparation of tax filings and compliance reports.
- Data Analysis: Perform financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings. Utilize analytical tools to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills
- Pursuing a Bachelor or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent;
- 3+ years’ related experience preferred.
- At least 2 years’ experience in accounting
- Fluency in written and spoken English; French would be an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good command of MS-Office, especially MS-Excel;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism;
- Good analytical skills and strong attention to detail; Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
