We are looking for a Senior Product designer who also possesses a good understanding of front-end development frameworks and practices. This individual should be able to design to address real user needs while working within the technical possibilities and constraints of our front-end frameworks and possess a good understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS and Svelte. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record that demonstrates ability to efficiently apply the design thinking methodologies in real-world projects. This includes designing reusable and efficient product features, leveraging existing design system libraries and patterns, and staying continually informed about the latest design and technology trend to make knowledgeable design decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Product Design with technical consideration:
- Drive end-to-end product design processes for enterprise SaaS, ensuring designs are feasible within our specific front-end frameworks.
- Translate business requirements into elegant user flows, wireframes, and prototypes, considering the constraints and capabilities of our front-end technologies.
- Inclusive and Accessible Design:
- Ensure all designs adhere to WCAG 2.2 standards, aiming for inclusive and accessible user experience.
- Perform accessibility audits after implementation to ensure compliance with accessibility standards
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions with internal and external stakeholders to understand the user and business needs
- Work closely with front-end developers, to understand technical constraints and facilitate a smooth transition from design to development.
- Research and User Testing:
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to inform design decisions.
- Regularly perform user testing and iterate designs based on feedback and data.
- Front-end Framework Knowledge:
- Design with a focus on reusability and efficiency, leveraging existing libraries and patterns to streamline development.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and updates in front-end development to inform design decisions, and leverage understanding and practical experience with front-end technologies such as Svelte, JavaScript, CSS.
- Documentation and Bidding Processes responses:
- Assist in Bidding Processes responses, clearly communicating design strategies and understanding client needs.
- Document design processes and decisions for clear communication with the development team and stakeholders.\
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in UX/UI design, with a proven track record in designing for SaaS products. Experience in front-end development is desiderable.
- Portfolio: Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design projects, with examples of designs implemented within specific front-end frameworks.
- Certifications: Familiarity with WCAG 2.2 standards; IAAP certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Methodology: Extensive experience in design thinking methodologies applied in an Agile and Scrum setting; proficient in tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Design tools: Proficiency in design tools (e.g. Sketch, Figma, Adobe Suite). Experience with creating and maintaining design systems and libraries.
- Technical Skills: Knowledgeable about front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Svelte).
- Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Proven expertise in UX writing, enhancing product interfaces for optimal user engagement.
