User Role Descriptions

In TAO Portal, users can have 2 types of roles:

  • Account roles: global roles that allow access to  some functionality across the whole application
  • Group roles: roles that are scoped to a given group only

Account roles

TAO Portal support the following Account (global) roles:

  • Global admin
  • Content developer
  • Group creator

These roles have rights across the TAO Portal without any restriction linked to the group they are enrolled in.

The table below summarises the right of each role:

Group-related roles

In addition to the account roles, TAO Portal support the following Group-related roles:

  • Group manager
  • Scorer
  • Test-taker

These roles can be assigned as part of the enrollment of a user to a specific group and provide the right to perform some actions in the scope of the given group.
